Tau Sniper Drone Team Update

I've finished my Tau Sniper Drone Team.  I'm VERY happy with how the Gundam Converge model worked out after a little conversion work.

My plan is to add two more spotters, but use the standard GW models.  I already have them assembled, based and primed.  I just need to paint them.

Wraithknight Update

I'm probably about 90% finished with the Wraithknight.  I went ahead and based it so that I'd feel happier playing with it.  Mostly I just need to work on some smaller details.  All the main bits are done.

I'm particularly happy with how the green gemstone on the chest turned out.

I'm considering trying to do the crafting thing in Hearthstone and put together this Warlock/Murloc deck. It looks like a lot of fun. I've played enough to get all the classes to level 10 and unlock all of their basic cards. I think it's time to start tinkering around and working towards something.

I keep getting packs of cards, opening them and then doing nothing with the resulting cards. I'll post more later on how this is working. I'm thinking it might take awhile as I'm not planning on spending penny one on this game. I like the concept of casual, free to play. I'm the kind of person who will play a couple odd games at the end of the day while I'm watching TV and unwinding, but I pretty much will never play during the day. It's not worth spending money if it's a super casual thing... at least in my mind.

I'm Not The Only Hearthstone Player!

Looks like I'm not the only one who downloaded this game.  I think that being able to play in front of the TV or while your dinner is cooking is great.

Number one game in 36 countries.  Number one overall app in 34...  and that includes the US.

Some More Work Done on the Tau Sniper Drone Team

I did a little work today over the last few days on my Tau Sniper Drone Team.

If you didn't see the prior posts, the spotter is converted from one of these guys and made to look like a customized Crisis Suit...

I feel like the conversion went pretty well and maintained the aesthetic of the Tau Empire pretty well.  I still have some work to do, but it's definitely at a tabletop playable stage.

I tried adding 'Ard Coat to the rims of the drones to make them look like ceramic.  I think I need to add a second layer to get it smoother.

Pretty Effing Awesome Space Marine Captains - GW Web Exclusive

So, I just got this bad boy in the mail.

He's my freebie for ordering over $100.  I didn't really order over $100.  It was a group effort, but do to some side haggling, I get to keep the Captain.

The really nice thing is that the model came with a little black "classified" pouch containing the below card.  On the back is a special website and code number which allows you to purchase the Web Exclusive #2 model.  It's a $30, which is in line with other Space Marine single model plastic sprues.

You're looking at a Leman Russ intended to be Knight Commander Pask, a Wave Serpent, a Wraithknight, 3x Edar Jetbikes, a Jetbike Farseer, 4x Gue'vesa (which is to say Imperial Guardsmen carrying pulse rifles and wearing some Tau armour) and a Tau Sniper Drone team consisting of 3x Drones, 2x normal Firesight Spotters and one custom "Crisis" Spotter.

Tau and Eldar additions to my Army List

I decided to rework my army list a little.

I'm adding 3x Jetbikes, a basic Ordo Xenos Inquisitor for Psychic Communion and a Tau Sniper Drone Team.

I haven't kitbashed the =][= guy yet, but the other two squads are ready for some paint.

Here you go...

Bad lighting, but these are Fire Warriors riding Eldar Jetbikes.

A Converted Gundam Converge model who is the 'vre version of a Firesight Spotter.

The rest of the Drone Team unprimed.  The one guy is ghetto old metal, but will look the same one primed.  I don't actually like the bulky antennas, so I cut the off the drones and the one Finecast dude.  The metal guy looked fine.

Tau Battleforce Display Board... on Display!

I brought the Battleforce Display Board I've been working on down to my local GW store and had a shelf in the display case cleared off for me.  I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I also picked up the preorder of my Astra Militarum Codex and a Leman Russ, so expect to see some IG/AM goodness in the near future.

Tau Battleforce Display Board

I've been fortunate enough to be able to put models in the display case at my local GW store.  Up until now, I've changed them out periodically and have had them sitting straight on the glass.

I decided to put together the contents of a Tau Empire Battleforce, add an Ethereal as HQ (mainly because I really like how my conversion turned out) and build a custom board.  I'm really pleased with out it turned out.
