Unexpected Terrain

Having an appropriate amount of terrain can be tough for tabletop gamers.  Sure, we can always put down a pile of books or a box of cereal and pretend that they're buildings and walls, but that's super lame.  "Real" gaming terrain can be expensive in terms of both time and money.

Every once in awhile, you run across something ridiculous that might work out.  I found these...  bird feeders?... at Michael's, an arts and crafts store in the US.  They are scaled almost perfectly to work with 28mm games and are pretty cheap.  I'm seriously thinking about buying some, gluing on a few scifi type bits and using them in games.  The Maelstrom's Edge terrain upgrade sprue would be perfect.
